Diving in Kailua-Kona

Kona means leeward in Hawaiian, Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa both over
12000 feet tall provide barrier to sometimes gusty trade winds.
Lava rock soil present no muddy run off to the ocean, therefore
water in Kongis very clear every where you dive. |

Blue Water Dive
|
This dive begin as research dive for off shore current dwelling plankton, but occasional sharks, dolphins and whales made it famous and attracted more divers. Chance of encountering large creature is low but the thought of it just makes your skin get goose flesh. |

Point Guide |
Garden eel cove
North of Kona, almost to the International air port, this nice and
quiet cove is infested with garden eels, that means under water current,
also means occasional large creature like dolphins.
High rock
Small life on parade! Harlequin shrimp, turkey fish.
Suck'm up cave
this cave with open ceiling have copious amount of natural light inside
for thorough inspection, like name say, you need to be careful when the
condition is with surge. You will be sucked out of the cave.
Turtle pinnacle
Pinnacle with many Green Sea Turtles, it is cleaning station for turtles,
golden eye surgeon fish and convict tang are the cleaner fish.
Golden arches
Name came from school of blue striped snapper made this arch looks gold
color,
Eel cove
A narrow ditch continues to shallow water, If wave action is low you can
follow it to the end.
KAIWI
This spot is loaded with tons of tropical fish, You can publish an encyclopedia
of tropical fish.
Wreck
Recent wreck of sail boat lay below 100 feet of water, many tropical fish
starting to make home here.
Long lava tube
Long boat ride to south of Kona, as the name say there is a very long
lava tunnel. lot of butterfly fish, nudibranch, crustacean.
There are many other dive sites we might take you to. Most dives are done
from our boats, but there are many great beach dive too. For all the good
